A National Cultural Competition

Kite Fest is not merely a festival, it is a deeply rooted cultural competition that honours Bermudian Good Friday traditions whilst creating a platform for innovation and intergenerational connection.

The Good Friday Kite Festival 2026

A National Tradition, A Community Celebration, A Day for Bermuda

Smith Technologies Ltd is proud to lead the revival of one of Bermuda’s most cherished national traditions with the return of the Bermuda Good Friday Kite Festival, taking place on Friday, April 3, 2026, at Horseshoe Bay from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Guided by a strong, community-driven mandate, this initiative is designed to create meaningful cultural experiences that reconnect generations, celebrate the spirit of togetherness, and strengthen the traditions that have long defined Bermuda’s Good Friday experience.

In collaboration with the Emperial Group, The Chewstick Foundation, and production partner STE (Spanish Town Entertainment), the 2026 festival marks the return of a beloved national gathering—reintroduced with renewed purpose, structure, and community participation. For generations, Good Friday has filled Bermuda’s skies with color, creativity, and shared memory.

The Bermuda Good Friday Kite Festival builds on that legacy by creating a national platform that celebrates craftsmanship, culture, creativity, and continuity across generations. From handcrafted kites rising into the sky to families gathering along the shoreline, this day represents a living expression of Bermudian identity and community spirit.

This initiative represents more than an event; it is a celebration of community, culture, and continuity. It reflects a commitment to preserving Bermuda’s heritage while creating opportunities for young people, families, schools, and businesses to actively participate in carrying these traditions forward.
